Swiss Life called on Plafometal to renovate over 900 m² of ceilings in its sprawling open offices in Brussels. The challenge facing the project was to create a comfortable work environment offering superior safety, namely 30-minute fire stability performance in accordance with applicable fire regulations while delivering the best possible acoustic absorption.
Plafometal proposed a fire-resistant (FS) ceiling solution combining:

In response to our customer’s specifications, we proposed the PM8 on bandraster system featuring self-supporting panels with hooks from the fire-resistant range that are designed for offices and lobbies, comprising a specific mineral wool pad in thin plastic film to ensure the best possible absorption coefficient: αw =1 («Alpha Plus» solution).
For this project, Plafometal manufactured and delivered 1,792 PM8 bandraster panels (1732 x 300 mm) with 11% Ø1.5 mm perforations and a pre-lacquered white finish.
